This panel will examine the spectrum of player-nonplayer interactions in video games (think Call of Duty at one end and the Japanese relationship-only Otome games at the other, with Mass Effect in the middle somewhere.) What does it mean to roleplay, and what parts of the spectrum might see increased interest and development in the coming years? Will player demand for advanced interaction with NPCs continue to carry us into new AAA territory?
